Το εθνικό μουσείο τέχνης της Καταλονίας στεγάζεται στο Palau Nacional, που οικοδομήθηκε για τη Διεθνή Έκθεση του 1929, και φιλοξενεί εκεί τη συλλογή του από το 1934. Είναι γνωστό κυρίως για τις ρομανικές τοιχογραφίες ναών, οι οποίες μεταφέρθηκαν από εκκλησίες των Πυρηναίων μεταξύ 1919 και 1923, με σημαντικότερη την αψίδα του Sant Climent de Taüll. Η συλλογή εκτείνεται από τη γοτθική, την αναγεννησιακή και την μπαρόκ ζωγραφική έως τον καταλανικό μοντερνισμό, το noucentisme, τη φωτογραφία και την τέχνη του Ισπανικού Εμφυλίου.
