Das Sigmund Freud Museum befindet sich in den Räumlichkeiten der Berggasse 19, in denen Freud von 1891 bis zu seiner Flucht aus dem nationalsozialistisch besetzten Österreich im Jahr 1938 lebte und wirkte. Das 1971 in Anwesenheit von Anna Freud eröffnete Museum wurde 2020 umfassend renoviert und erweitert. Heute sind sämtliche Privaträume der Familie sowie die Praxen von Sigmund und Anna Freud zugänglich – einschließlich des originalen Wartezimmers. Darüber hinaus beherbergt das Haus eine bedeutende psychoanalytische Forschungsbibliothek, eine Sammlung zeitgenössischer Konzeptkunst sowie Sonderausstellungen zur Psychoanalyse und ihrer Geschichte.
