作為 Nationalgalerie 旗下的經典現代主義美術館，館藏以藝術品商人 Heinz Berggruen 的個人收藏為奠基，雲集逾百件 Picasso 作品，以及 Paul Klee、Henri Matisse 和 Alberto Giacometti 的重要創作系列。展館設於 Charlottenburg Palace 對面的 Stüler building 西翼。自 2022 年 9 月 5 日起，美術館因 Stüler building 進行全面翻修工程而暫停開放，目前尚未公佈重開日期。閉館期間，館藏於國際巡迴展出（最近一站巡展至 Museum of Fine Arts, Houston，展期至 2026 年 9 月 13 日）；柏林現時未有展出相關藏品。相鄰的 Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg 則維持正常開放。
