Zbudowany dla cesarza Karola VI w latach 1723–1726 według projektu Johanna Bernharda Fischera von Erlacha i ukończony przez jego syna Josepha Emanuela, State Hall należy do najbardziej spektakularnych historycznych sal bibliotecznych na świecie. Pod freskiem Daniela Grana w kopule, przedstawiającym apoteozę cesarza, na orzechowych regałach spoczywa około 200 000 woluminów wydanych w latach 1501–1850, w tym liczący około 15 000 ksiąg księgozbiór księcia Eugeniusza Sabaudzkiego. Marmurowe posągi dłuta braci Strudel oraz cztery globusy Coronellego dopełniają wystroju sali, która stanowi także przestrzeń dla najważniejszych wystaw czasowych biblioteki.
