Inaugurata nel 2000, Haus der Musik è il primo museo austriaco interamente dedicato al suono e alla musica. Ha sede nel Palais Erzherzog Carl, dove visse Otto Nicolai quando fondò i Wiener Philharmoniker nel 1842. Lungo quattro piani, il percorso espositivo si snoda dall'archivio e museo dell'orchestra fino all'innovativo laboratorio sonoro Sonotopia, passando per le sale dedicate a Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Strauss e Mahler. Al piano superiore, grazie all'installazione interattiva Virtual Conductor, potrete persino impugnare la bacchetta e dirigere la Filarmonica di Vienna su uno schermo virtuale.
