Fondato nel 1893 e ospitato dal 1903 negli ex dormitori dei monaci del Monastero dos Jerónimos, il Museu Nacional de Arqueologia conserva la principale collezione portoghese di reperti preistorici, romani e medievali, oltre ad antichità egizie e antichi tesori in oro.
