Il CCCB è il centro di cultura contemporanea di Barcellona, dedicato alla città e alla cultura urbana. Occupa parte della Casa de Caritat, un antico ospizio costruito a partire dal 1802 e riconvertito nel 1993 dagli architetti Albert Viaplana e Helio Piñón, che vi aggiunsero un volume vetrato inclinato, capace di riflettere i tetti della città. Le grandi mostre tematiche intrecciano arte, scienza, storia e design, affiancate da un fitto programma di incontri, festival e proiezioni cinematografiche. Non esiste una collezione permanente: le esposizioni cambiano più volte l’anno.
