El SOMPO Museum of Art ocupa un llamativo edificio curvo revestido de acero, situado en la base de la torre de la sede de Sompo Japan en Nishi-Shinjuku. Su colección creció a partir de un legado de 1978 compuesto por obras del pintor japonés de óleos Seiji Togo y hoy reúne unas 640 piezas, entre las que destaca Girasoles (1888), de Vincent van Gogh, adquirido en una subasta de Christie's celebrada en 1987 por una cifra récord. El museo también conserva obras de Gauguin, Cézanne, Renoir y Grandma Moses, y presenta un programa cambiante de grandes exposiciones con obras cedidas.
