Fundado a partir de la colección del empresario Nezu Kaichirō, el Nezu Museum exhibe arte japonés y de Asia Oriental premoderno desde 1941. El edificio de 2009, obra del arquitecto Kengo Kuma, articula un acceso flanqueado de bambú en torno a una galería de dos plantas, coronada por una amplia cubierta de tejas. La colección, compuesta por más de 7.400 piezas, incluye siete Tesoros Nacionales, entre ellos los biombos plegables "Irises" de Ogata Kōrin, además de bronces chinos, cerámica, caligrafía y objetos de laca. El jardín japonés del museo, de 17.000 m², con estanques, casas de té y linternas de piedra, es por sí solo uno de sus grandes atractivos.
