Inaugurado en 1995 en el parque Kiba, el Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT) es uno de los mayores espacios de Japón dedicados al arte de posguerra y contemporáneo, con unos 33.000 metros cuadrados de superficie. Su colección permanente MOT Collection, formada por unas 5.700 obras, abarca el arte japonés e internacional desde 1945, con importantes fondos de Pop Art, y se presenta en selecciones temáticas que se renuevan periódicamente, junto a grandes exposiciones con obras cedidas en préstamo. El museo también organiza el Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo Annual, una muestra periódica dedicada a artistas emergentes de las artes visuales, escénicas y experimentales.
