Fundado en 1994 en el antiguo emplazamiento del Cuartel General del Ejército, en Yongsan, el War Memorial of Korea documenta la historia militar de Corea desde los conflictos prehistóricos hasta la guerra de Corea y más allá. Sus siete salas interiores exhiben cerca de 10.000 de sus 33.000 objetos, entre ellos el muro de honor de la Sala Conmemorativa, dioramas bélicos y salas dedicadas a la guerra de Corea y a las fuerzas expedicionarias de Corea en el extranjero. En la Zona de Equipamiento Militar al aire libre se distribuyen por el recinto tanques, aeronaves y vehículos blindados; el museo cuenta también con un espacio específico para niños.
