El museo nacional de historia natural de España, gestionado por el CSIC en el Palacio de las Artes y la Industria (1887), en la Calle de José Gutiérrez Abascal. Sus fondos se remontan al Real Gabinete de Historia Natural fundado por Carlos III en 1771 y hoy albergan más de ocho millones de ejemplares. Las salas permanentes recorren la biodiversidad, los minerales y fósiles, la evolución humana y el Mediterráneo, junto a exposiciones temporales dedicadas a la ciencia y la naturaleza.
