El Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, conocido también como Gezira Center for Modern Art, recorre la evolución del arte moderno egipcio desde comienzos del siglo XX hasta nuestros días. Forma parte del National Cultural Centre en Gezira Island y comparte terrenos con el Cairo Opera House y el Palace of Arts. El museo alberga más de 10.000 pinturas y esculturas, entre ellas obras clave de Mahmoud Said, Ragheb Ayad, Mohammed Naghi, Gazbia Sirry, Inji Aflatoun, Tahia Halim, Abdel Hadi Al-Gazzar, Adam Henein, George Bahgoury y Mahmoud Mokhtar. La primera planta alberga las galerías permanentes, mientras que las plantas superiores acogen exposiciones temporales. El museo depende del Fine Arts Sector del Ministerio de Cultura de Egipto.
