El CCCB es el centro de cultura contemporánea de Barcelona, dedicado a la ciudad y la cultura urbana. Ocupa parte de la Casa de Caritat, un antiguo hospicio construido a partir de 1802, que los arquitectos Albert Viaplana y Helio Piñón transformaron en 1993, añadiendo un volumen inclinado de vidrio que refleja las azoteas. Sus grandes exposiciones temáticas combinan arte, ciencia, historia y diseño, junto con un intenso programa de conferencias, festivales y cine. No cuenta con una colección permanente; las exposiciones cambian varias veces al año.
