Lotta Antonsson: I Am Everything

In Seashell Face #100, clam shells sit where a model's eyes should be, so the picture looks straight back at you. Lotta Antonsson works this way throughout. She takes pages from 1960s and 70s magazines, some torn out and folded to hide the text, and covers the faces and bodies on them with shells, quartz and amethyst.

You walk into windowless rooms dressed like a 60s interior: hot pink plinths, mirrors, shell curtains and a houseplant, with a slow sound piece playing. Some works stand on the floor at human scale. Antonsson's own description is that she wants "to lure you in with beauty, then you find something that is compulsive, or confronting or scary."

Maria Hall, reviewing it for Konsten.net, found its force in the quiet and called the show deeply affecting. It rewards a slow visit on your own. Entry is included in the 195 SEK museum ticket, Fotografiska is open until 23:00 every day, and the show closes on 29 November.
