Ιδρύθηκε το 1905 από τη βασίλισσα Amélia και στεγάζει αυτό που το ίδιο αποκαλεί την σημαντικότερη συλλογή κρατικών αμαξών στον κόσμο: περισσότερα από 70 ιστορικά οχήματα, που καλύπτουν τέσσερις αιώνες. Ανάμεσα στα σημαντικότερα εκθέματα είναι οι θριαμβευτικές άμαξες του 1716, με τις οποίες η πορτογαλική πρεσβεία μετέβη στον πάπα Clement XI, καθώς και η landau στην οποία δολοφονήθηκε ο βασιλιάς Carlos I το 1908.
