Rahmi M. Koç MuseumHasköy
Koç Group's production history from 1926 to 2026 alongside Turkey's industrialisation, told with archives, photographs and a diorama.
You walk in through a doorway shaped like the number 100, and first comes a photocopy of a yellowed ledger: the 1926 entry in which Vehbi Koç registered his father's small Ankara shop with the chamber of commerce. Invoices, handwritten letters and the 1928 Ford dealership agreement follow.
The 1950s are the heart of it. A corridor runs from a light bulb made with General Electric to Arçelik's first fridge, single-door with rounded corners, in a recreated home kitchen. A red tractor stands among photographs of farmers, and İnanç Benlioğlu's 1/18-scale diorama rebuilds a 1990s Turkish street, billboards and all. The show calculates that the group's 13 million light commercial vehicles, stacked, would reach 2,938 times the height of Everest.
Karar's Ebru Yazıcı didn't expect to have such a good time at a show with "industry" in its name. It's in the Mustafa V. Koç Building until 7 February 2027. Museum entry is 1,000 TL, 500 TL for students, and it's closed on Mondays.
Arçelik's first fridge
Look for the single-door fridge with rounded corners, set in a recreated home kitchen beside one of the first washing machines and a wall of period adverts.
The 1990s diorama
İnanç Benlioğlu's 1/18-scale city of streets, shops, apartment blocks, cars and billboards, with the group's brands tucked into everyday scenes.
The red tractor
It stands in the middle of the farm section, ringed by black-and-white photographs of farmers watching a tractor arrive in their village for the first time.
The Anadol steering wheel
The wheel of the Anadol that came off Otosan's first assembly line, shown near a miniature Ford Transit.
The box for 2046
In the last section you write a hope for the future by hand and post it into a box, and the envelopes are to be opened in twenty years.
The final section switches to interactive digital screens and a box where visitors leave handwritten hopes for the future; the rest is display cases, documents and photographs.
