The Shed ist ein gemeinnütziges Kulturzentrum in Manhattans Hudson Yards, das eigens beauftragte Originalwerke aus den Bereichen Performance, bildende Kunst und Popkultur produziert und präsentiert. Das von Diller Scofidio + Renfro entworfene Gebäude besitzt eine ausfahrbare Außenhülle, die auf Schienen herausrollt, die Grundfläche des Hauses verdoppelt und so die stützenfreie Veranstaltungshalle McCourt entstehen lässt. Seit seiner Eröffnung 2019 verfügt die Institution über keine eigene Sammlung, sondern konzentriert sich auf die Uraufführung neuer, interdisziplinärer Werke.
