El National Museum of Asian Art de la Smithsonian reuneix dos edificis connectats al National Mall: la Freer Gallery of Art, inaugurada el 1923 en un palau d'estil renaixentista italià de granit rosa projectat per Charles A. Platt, i l'Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, oberta el 1987 i accessible per via subterrània.
