iDolmabahçe Palace
Built between 1843 and 1853 for Sultan Abdülmecid I, Dolmabahçe replaced Topkapı as the Ottoman court's residence and mixes Ottoman planning with Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical forms. The Selamlık (state apartments), Muayede ceremonial hall and Harem hold Hereke carpets, Baccarat and Bohemian crystal, Sèvres porcelain and diplomatic gifts. Atatürk lived here intermittently from 1927 and died in the Harem on 10 November 1938. It has been a museum-palace since 1984.

The National Palaces' collection of paintings, shown in the palace's former Veliahd (crown prince) apartments.
Palace Collections Museum
Objects from Dolmabahçe, Beylerbeyi, Topkapı and Yıldız palaces, arranged thematically in the former imperial kitchens.
