iCentro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian (CAM)Avenidas Novas
More than fifty artists from the 1950s to today use drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and video to build places between reality and imagination.

The lead image is René Bertholo's Álamo, from 1980: two tiled courtyards stacked one above the other, posts strung with pale ribbon, a green letter A on a pedestal, a bentwood chair holding a hat and a book. A place that only exists on paper, which is this show's subject.
More than fifty artists from the 1950s to now, all from CAM's own collection, fill the Nave and Mezzanine with painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, photography and video, each marking out, building or mapping a place. The names run from Almada Negreiros and Vieira da Silva to Rachel Whiteread. Anyone who has toured a Lisbon flat that looked twice the size on Idealista already knows about places between reality and imagination.
Entry is €6 (€10 with the collection), free on Sundays from 14:00 and for under-18s. CAM is open until 21:00 on Saturdays and closed Tuesdays. You can walk it with the two curators on 6 February 2027 at 16:00, free, with tickets collected on the day.
五十多位艺术家从20世纪50年代至今,运用绘画、绘画创作、雕塑、摄影和录像,构筑介于现实与想象之间的场所。

Look for the show's lead image: two stacked tiled courtyards, posts strung with ribbon, a green letter A on a pedestal and a chair holding a hat and a book.
Under-18s get in free. On 5 December 2026 and 20 March 2027, "Places in motion" is a 90-minute family tour for ages 6 to 10 that reads the works through movement and dance, in Portuguese.
