Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza mieści jedną z najznakomitszych prywatnych kolekcji sztuki na świecie, zgromadzoną przez rodzinę Thyssen-Bornemisza i zakupioną przez państwo hiszpańskie w 1993 roku. Kolekcja, obejmująca dzieła od włoskich prymitywistów po awangardę XX wieku, dopełnia madrycki „Złoty Trójkąt Sztuki”, w skład którego wchodzą także Prado i Reina Sofía. Muzeum mieści się w XVIII-wiecznym Palacio de Villahermosa przy Paseo del Prado, odrestaurowanym przez architekta Rafaela Moneo przed otwarciem w 1992 roku.
