Założone w 1913 roku Boston Children's Museum to drugie najstarsze muzeum dziecięce w Stanach Zjednoczonych, które od 1979 roku mieści się na nabrzeżu Children's Wharf przy Fort Point Channel. Na placu przed wejściem wznosi się Hood Milk Bottle – wysoki na ponad 12 metrów i ważący niemal 7 ton drewniany kiosk z lodami, zbudowany w Taunton w 1933 roku i ustawiony tutaj w 1977 roku, będący jednym z najbardziej niezwykłych symboli Bostonu. Wewnątrz na trzech kondygnacjach czekają interaktywne ekspozycje: od New Balance Foundation Climb – trójpoziomowej rzeźby wspinaczkowej projektu Luckey Climber, stworzonej dla muzeum w 1985 roku – po Kyo-no-Machiya, autentyczny dwupiętrowy dom kupca jedwabiu z Kioto, podarowany przez miasto partnerskie i zrekonstruowany na miejscu przez japońskich cieśli. Wystawy obejmują nauki ścisłe i inżynierię, sztukę, kulturę, zdrowie oraz przestrzeń do wszechstronnej zabawy, w tym strefy dedykowane maluchom poniżej trzeciego roku życia.
