CaixaForum Barcelona occupa la fabbrica Casaramona, un opificio tessile modernista merlato ultimato da Josep Puig i Cadafalch nel 1911 e restaurato dalla Fondazione "la Caixa" prima di aprire come centro d’arte nel 2002. Si accede attraverso l’ingresso in acciaio e vetro progettato da Arata Isozaki, per poi scendere in un atrio dominato da un disegno murale di Sol LeWitt. Le gallerie ospitano importanti mostre temporanee, spesso con opere in prestito da istituzioni come il British Museum, oltre a un’installazione di Joseph Beuys proveniente dalla collezione della fondazione, conferenze, concerti e attività per famiglie.
