Creato dallo stesso Joan Miró e inaugurato nel 1975, il Fundació occupa un edificio bianco e inondato di luce sul Montjuïc, progettato dall’amico e architetto Josep Lluís Sert. Il percorso espositivo Joan Miró. Circles (2026–2028) mette in dialogo oltre 100 opere di Miró con l’architettura di Sert e il da poco inaugurato Cypress Garden. Alle esposizioni temporanee si affiancano il programma Espai 13, dedicato agli artisti emergenti, e il Joan Miró Prize, mantenendo una forte vocazione contemporanea.
