Nach fast zwei Jahrzehnten Bauzeit im Juni 2023 eröffnet, präsentiert die Galería de las Colecciones Reales einen Teil der 155.000 Stücke umfassenden königlichen Sammlung von Patrimonio Nacional mit Werken vom 12. bis zum 19. Jahrhundert. Der mit Granit verkleidete Bau schmiegt sich an der Cuesta de la Vega in den Hang unterhalb des Palacio Real und beherbergt Gemälde von Velázquez, Caravaggio und Tizian sowie königliche Rüstungen, Wandteppiche und Prunkkutschen. Das Museum liegt neben dem Palacio Real und der Almudena-Kathedrale an der Plaza de la Armería; ein Kombiticket für Palast und Galerie kostet 24 € (12 € ermäßigt).
