CaixaForum Barcelona befindet sich in der Casaramona-Fabrik, einer von Zinnen bekrönten modernistischen Textilfabrik, die Josep Puig i Cadafalch 1911 fertigstellte und die von der „la Caixa“-Stiftung restauriert wurde, bevor sie 2002 als Kunstzentrum eröffnet wurde. Der Zugang führt durch Arata Isozakis Eingang aus Stahl und Glas in ein Foyer, das von einer Wandzeichnung von Sol LeWitt geprägt ist. In den Ausstellungsräumen sind bedeutende Wechselausstellungen zu sehen, häufig mit Leihgaben aus Institutionen wie dem British Museum. Hinzu kommen eine Installation von Joseph Beuys aus der Stiftungssammlung sowie Gespräche, Konzerte und Angebote für Familien.
