Inaugurat el 2006 a la riba de l'Spree, just davant de la Berliner Dom, el DDR Museum retrata el dia a dia a la República Democràtica Alemanya mitjançant instal·lacions interactives pensades per tocar-se. Amb 1.000 m² d'exposició, el recorregut aborda l'escola, la feina, les vacances, el consum, la ideologia, el Mur i la Stasi, amb espais destacats com la simulació de conducció d'un Trabant P601 i un habitatge de blocs prefabricats WBS 70 completament moblat. Tots els textos s'ofereixen en alemany i anglès.
