Inaugurat el 1963, el Museu Picasso conserva més de 4.000 obres de Pablo Picasso i ressegueix el seu vincle de tota la vida amb Barcelona, on va passar els anys de formació de la seva adolescència. La col·lecció és especialment rica en obra primerenca, inclosa la peça acadèmica de lluïment Science and Charity (1897), i conserva la sèrie Las Meninas, de 1957, que el mateix Picasso va donar al museu. Ocupa cinc palaus medievals contigus del Carrer Montcada, a la Ribera.
