يُعد Otis House آخر قصر باقٍ من قصور Bowdoin Square؛ إذ شُيد عام 1796 وفق تصميم Charles Bulfinch للمحامي الشاب وعمدة Boston المستقبلي Harrison Gray Otis وزوجته Sally Foster Otis. يمثل المبنى معلماً تاريخياً وطنياً (National Historic Landmark)، وقد رُممت تصميماته الداخلية استناداً إلى أبحاث تاريخية وعلمية دقيقة، مما أعاد إحياء ورق الجدران بألوانه الزاهية والسجاد والمفروشات الراقية التي ميزت الطراز الفيدرالي في تسعينيات القرن الثامن عشر. تستعرض الجولات المصحوبة بمرشدين ملامح حياة الأسرة خلال الحقبة الفيدرالية، إضافة إلى التحولات اللاحقة التي شهدها المبنى حين استُخدم عيادة طبية ثم دار ضيافة للطبقة الوسطى. يضم المنزل أيضاً المقر الرئيسي لمؤسسة Historic New England، وهو مغلق حالياً في إطار مشروع متعدد السنوات للترميم وتيسير الوصول.

Accessibility

Tours involve standing, walking and stairs. Visitors with limited mobility may be able to enjoy a first-floor tour of the house and grounds. Folding chairs are provided and a virtual tour can be accessed on a personal device onsite. The site has no ramps, elevators or lifts, and the house is not air-conditioned. Service animals welcome. The current restoration project includes comprehensive accessibility upgrades.
