National Museum of Egyptian Civilization（NMEC）于2021年4月3日正式开馆，坐落在开罗老城历史悠久的Fustat街区，濒临Ain El-Sira Lake。博物馆占地约14公顷，是阿拉伯世界首座全面呈现一个文明完整历史的博物馆。馆内5万件藏品按主题分布于多个展厅，涵盖文明的起源、尼罗河、文字、国家与社会、物质文化以及信仰与思想等主题。展馆的核心亮点是位于地下层的Royal Mummies Hall，收藏着22位法老与王后的木乃伊，其中包括Ramesses II、Hatshepsut和Thutmose III，这些木乃伊在2021年举世瞩目的Golden Parade活动中由Tahrir Square的Egyptian Museum迁移至此。博物馆内还设有纺织品博物馆、古代染坊、临时展厅、图书馆、咖啡厅及礼品店等配套设施。
