Musée Gustave Moreau zajmuje paryską kamienicę, w której mieszkał i pracował malarz symbolista Gustave Moreau (1826-1898) i którą w ostatnich latach życia przekształcił w muzeum poświęcone własnej sztuce. Parter i pierwsze piętro zachowały jego intymne apartamenty, natomiast dwie ogromne pracownie na najwyższym piętrze, połączone efektownymi, żeliwnymi spiralnymi schodami, są zawieszone w stylu salonowym setkami obrazów, akwareli i rysunków. Kolekcja liczy około 1200 obrazów oraz około 4800 rysunków, z których wiele to szkice i niedokończone prace przechowywane w specjalnie zaprojektowanych przez artystę gablotach. Otwarte dla publiczności w 1903 roku, muzeum od tego czasu prawie nie zmieniło swojego układu.
