Fondato nel 1980 a partire dalla collezione privata dell’imprenditore Seizo Ōta V, il Ōta Memorial Museum of Art conserva una delle più importanti raccolte giapponesi di stampe xilografiche ukiyo-e: oltre 12.000 opere, di artisti che vanno da Utamaro e Hokusai a Hiroshige e oltre. Situato appena fuori da Takeshita Street, a Harajuku, il museo non presenta un allestimento permanente; propone invece un programma variabile di mostre tematiche, all’incirca ogni uno o due mesi.
