MoMA PS1 è una delle istituzioni non profit dedicate all'arte contemporanea più antiche e più grandi degli Stati Uniti, fondata nel 1971 da Alanna Heiss in un ex edificio scolastico pubblico a Long Island City, Queens. Affiliata al Museum of Modern Art dal 2000, promuove opere sperimentali, emergenti e ai confini della ricerca artistica nelle gallerie labirintiche, nelle scale e nel piano sottoterra del suo storico edificio in mattoni. È celebre per la rassegna periodica Greater New York dedicata agli artisti locali, per la rassegna musicale estiva Warm Up e per la Meeting Skyspace, installazione permanente di James Turrell. Da gennaio 2026 l'ingresso è gratuito per tutti.
