DINOSAURS! – Age of the Giant Lizards

Orain ikusgai2022(e)ko abuztuaren 23(a) – 2027(e)ko azaroaren 30(a)Ordainpekoa — ikusi webgunea

Original fossils from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous, from early Plateosaurus to the superbly preserved T. rex Tristan Otto, with an Allosaurus skull.

Gehiago: Berlin

A T. rex has roughly 300 bones, and 170 of Tristan Otto's survived, which makes him one of the best-preserved specimens in the world. The museum also puts his almost completely preserved skull on the historic staircase, so the show starts before you reach the hall.

The route follows the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous in turn: Plateosaurus from Halberstadt, an Allosaurus jimmadseni from Wyoming, then the twelve-metre Tristan Otto from Montana's Hell Creek Formation. There is also a nest with eggs and the skull of Caspar, a T. rex cub of about seven years old. Tristan Otto is missing 130 bones and still looks better on a Monday than you do on the U6, which stops right outside at Naturkundemuseum.

Entry is €11 for adults, €5 for children from 6 and for concessions, and €18 for a family. Under-6s are free. The ticket covers every exhibition in the museum, and timed tickets online are recommended. The show runs until 30 November 2027.
