Reabierta en 2023 tras una gran transformación, la National Portrait Gallery narra la historia de Gran Bretaña a través de su gente. La colección abarca seis siglos de retratos, desde el Henry VIII de Holbein hasta los autorretratos de Hockney. El nuevo recorrido guía al visitante cronológicamente desde la planta superior hacia abajo, mientras que las salas de la planta baja exhiben fotografía contemporánea y obras por encargo.
