iGallerie dell'Accademia · Dorsoduro
Diese Ausstellung ist beendet.
The first major show here by a living woman artist: Abramović's performance works, interactive Transitory Objects and new commissions set among Renaissance masterpieces.
Website des MuseumsAt the centre of the show, Abramović's Pietà (with Ulay), made in 1983, is presented in dialogue with Titian's Pietà of around 1575 to 1576. A living performance artist, hung into a museum of Venetian painting.
It is the first show here to run through both the temporary spaces and the permanent galleries. Historic performances appear as projections, among them Rhythm 0 (1974), Light/Dark (1977), Balkan Baroque (1997) and Carrying the Skeleton (2008), alongside new works made for the occasion. The Transitory Objects are beds and stone structures embedded with quartz, amethyst and other minerals, and you are invited to lie, sit or stand on them. It is the one gallery in Dorsoduro where lying down is part of the instructions.
Entry is included in the €20 museum ticket, booked online for a time slot. EU citizens aged 18 to 25 pay €2 and under-18s are free. The museum gives 18 October as the last day. No review of the show turned up, so there is no verdict here.
