SONGEUN ist ein gemeinnütziger Ort für zeitgenössische Kunst, den die SONGEUN Art and Cultural Foundation 1989 gegründet hat, um aufstrebende Künstler aus Korea zu fördern. Das markante dreieckige Gebäude in Cheongdam-dong, entworfen von Herzog & de Meuron und 2021 fertiggestellt, war das erste realisierte Projekt des Schweizer Büros in Korea. Mit dem SONGEUN Art Award fördert die Stiftung seit 2001 wegweisende zeitgenössische Künstler aus Korea. Die Betonfassade mit ihrer Holzmaserung erinnert an die Bedeutung des Namens: „verborgene Kiefer“.
