Das Museo del Traje ist Spaniens Nationalmuseum für Kleidung und bewahrt über 160.000 Kleidungsstücke, Accessoires und Textilien vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart. Die ständige Sammlung spannt den Bogen von historischer und regionaler Tracht bis zur Haute Couture des 20. Jahrhunderts von Balenciaga, Fortuny und Pertegaz, ergänzt durch ein vielfältiges Wechselausstellungsprogramm. Das Museum beherbergt zugleich das Centro de Investigación del Patrimonio Etnológico, ein Forschungszentrum für das ethnologische Erbe Spaniens, und befindet sich in einem modernistischen Gebäude aus den 1970er-Jahren nahe der Ciudad Universitaria.
