Das Museu Nacional do Azulejo erzählt die Geschichte des Azulejo, der glasierten Fliese Portugals, vom späten 15. Jahrhundert bis in die Gegenwart – ergänzt durch Keramik, Porzellan und Fayencen. Es befindet sich im ehemaligen Convento da Madre de Deus, das Königin Leonor 1509 gründete. Zum Rundgang gehören der manieristische Kreuzgang, der vergoldete Hochchor und die reich ausgeschmückte Kirche. Zu den Höhepunkten zählt das Great Panorama of Lisbon, eine Fliesendarstellung der Stadt vor dem Erdbeben von 1755. Das Museum ist seit November 2025 wegen Renovierungsarbeiten im Rahmen des portugiesischen Aufbau- und Resilienzplans (PRR) geschlossen; ein bestätigter Termin für die Wiedereröffnung steht noch nicht fest.
