Das Grand Egyptian Museum ist ein monumentales archäologisches Museum in Giza, rund 2 Kilometer von den großen Pyramiden entfernt. Auf einer Fläche von 872.000 Quadratfuß, verteilt auf 12 Galerien, werden die Artefakte chronologisch und thematisch über die gesamte Spanne der altägyptischen Geschichte hinweg präsentiert. Das Herzstück bildet die vollständige, rund 5.000 Objekte umfassende Sammlung des Tutanchamun – erstmals seit der Öffnung des Pharaonengrabs im Jahr 1922 wieder an einem Ort vereint – darunter die berühmte goldene Totenmaske. Über eine große Treppe, flankiert von monumentalen Statuen, gelangen die Besucher zu deckenhohen Fenstern mit Blick auf die Pyramiden. Der Komplex umfasst zudem die rekonstruierten Sonnenbarken des Cheops, ein Konferenzzentrum sowie Gärten. Entworfen von Heneghan Peng Architects, war das Museum mehr als zwei Jahrzehnte im Bau, bevor es am 1. November 2025 vollständig eingeweiht wurde.
