La Renwick Gallery és la seu del Smithsonian American Art Museum dedicada a l'artesania contemporània i les arts decoratives, situada a Lafayette Square, a una illa de la White House. James Renwick Jr. la va projectar el 1859 per al banquer William Wilson Corcoran en l'estil Segon Imperi que havia admirat al Louvre, convertint-la en el primer edifici dels Estats Units bastit expressament com a museu d'art; la inscripció «Dedicated to Art» encara es pot llegir sobre la porta, i el senador Charles Sumner la va batejar com «the American Louvre». Salvat de l'enderroc gràcies a una campanya liderada per Jacqueline Kennedy el 1962 i reobert com a galeria d'artesania de la Smithsonian el 1972, l'espai exposa peces tèxtils, ceràmica, vidre, metall i fusta de creadors nord-americans al llarg de dues plantes, amb el Grand Salon com a sala principal. L'entrada és gratuïta.
