Fundat a partir de la col·lecció de l’empresari Nezu Kaichirō, el Nezu Museum exposa art japonès i de l’Àsia oriental premodern des de 1941. L’edifici, projectat per l’arquitecte Kengo Kuma el 2009, envolta amb un accés flanquejat de bambú una galeria de dues plantes, coronada per una àmplia teulada de teules. La col·lecció, formada per més de 7.400 peces, inclou set Tresors Nacionals, entre els quals els paravents plegables "Irises", d’Ogata Kōrin, així com bronzes xinesos, ceràmica, cal·ligrafia i objectes lacats. El jardí japonès del museu, de 17.000 m², amb estanys, cases de te i fanals de pedra, és per si sol un dels grans atractius de la visita.
