Fundada per Arne Glimcher a Boston l'any 1960, Pace s'ha convertit en una de les galeries d'art contemporani i modern més importants del món. El seu buc insígnia de Nova York, al 540 West 25th Street, inaugurat el 2019, és una torre de vuit plantes construïda expressament i revestida amb pedra volcànica negra mat extreta del Mount Etna, a Sicília. A l'interior, sis plantes de galeries plenes de llum acullen grans exposicions juntament amb Pace Live, un programa de música, dansa, cinema i converses. La galeria representa patrimonis artístics moderns destacats i artistes en actiu, des de David Hockney i Julian Schnabel fins a Emily Kam Kngwarray.
