El Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza acull una de les col·leccions d'art privades més prestigioses del món, reunida per la família Thyssen-Bornemisza i adquirida per l'Estat espanyol el 1993. Amb un recorregut que va des dels primitius italians fins a les avantguardes del segle XX, culmina el «Triangle de l'Art» de Madrid al costat del Prado i el Reina Sofia. El museu s'ubica al Palacio de Villahermosa, un edifici del segle XVIII situat al Paseo del Prado que va ser remodelat per l'arquitecte Rafael Moneo per a la seva inauguració el 1992.
