Ubicat des del 1932 en un antic palauet de la Calle Montalbán, el Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas recorre les arts decoratives europees i asiàtiques des del segle XVI fins al XX al llarg d'unes seixanta sales repartides en cinc plantes. El seu gran atractiu és la reconstrucció fidel d'una cuina valenciana del segle XVIII revestida amb més de 1.500 rajoles pintades a mà, a més d'ambients d'època que recreen la vida quotidiana de l'aristocràcia, mobiliari, ceràmica, vidre, teixits i una destacada col·lecció d'art decoratiu xinès i japonès. Fundat el 1912 com a museu d'arts industrials, continua sent un dels espais més tranquils de l'entorn del Triángulo del Arte, a pocs passos del Prado i dels jardins del Retiro.
