El Museo de América acull una de les grans col·leccions del món dedicades als pobles i cultures d'Amèrica, des del paleolític fins a l'actualitat. Inaugurat a la seva seu actual de Moncloa el 1965, recorre l'arqueologia prehispànica, l'art de l'època colonial i l'etnografia indígena a través de sales articulades a l'entorn del coneixement, la societat, la religió i la comunicació. Entre les seves peces més destacades figuren l'orfebreria inca, el tresor dels Quimbaya, el Còdex Tudela i una cèlebre sèrie de pintures de castes.
