يُمثّل Renwick فرع Smithsonian American Art Museum المخصص للحرف اليدوية المعاصرة والفنون الزخرفية، ويقع في Lafayette Square على بُعد مبنى واحد من White House. صممه المعماري James Renwick Jr. عام 1859 لصالح المصرفي William Wilson Corcoran على طراز الإمبراطورية الثانية الذي استلهمه من متحف Louvre، ليصبح بذلك أول مبنى يُشيّد في الولايات المتحدة خصيصاً ليكون متحفاً فنياً؛ ولا تزال عبارة «Dedicated to Art» (مكرّس للفن) محفورة فوق مدخله، وقد لقّبه السيناتور Charles Sumner بـ «متحف اللوفر الأمريكي». أُنقذ المبنى من الهدم بفضل حملة قادتها Jacqueline Kennedy عام 1962، ثم أُعيد افتتاحه عام 1972 كمعرض للحرف الفنية تابع لمؤسسة Smithsonian، حيث يعرض عبر طابقين أعمالاً من الألياف، والخزف، والزجاج، والمعادن، والخشب لأبرز المبدعين الأمريكيين، وتتوسطه قاعة Grand Salon كأبرز معالمه. الدخول مجاني. يُرجى الملاحظة: المبنى مغلق مؤقتاً أمام الجمهور حتى 13 نوفمبر 2026 لإعادة تجهيزه استعداداً لمعرض العمل اليدوي: الحرف المعاصرة في Renwick Gallery (Handwork: Contemporary Craft at the Renwick Gallery).
