صممه المعماري Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt واكتمل بناؤه عام 1723 ليكون مقراً صيفياً فخماً ومكاناً للاحتفالات للأمير Eugene of Savoy؛ يشرف قصر Upper Belvedere بإطلالته الرائعة على الحدائق الباروكية الممتدة نحو قصر Lower Belvedere. يحتضن القصر اليوم المعرض الدائم لمقتنيات Belvedere بعنوان "Picture this!"، متتبعاً مسيرة الفن من Cranach حتى Maria Lassnig؛ ويعد من أبرز معروضاته تحفة Gustav Klimt الخالدة "القبلة" (The Kiss)، إلى جانب أعمال Egon Schiele ومجموعة الرؤوس التعبيرية (Character Heads) للنحات Franz Xaver Messerschmidt. كما تستضيف قاعة Carlone Hall في القصر تجهيزات وأعمالاً فنية معاصرة متجددة باستمرار.
