تأسس Nezu Museum على مجموعة رجل الأعمال Nezu Kaichirō، ويعرض فنون اليابان وشرق آسيا ما قبل العصر الحديث منذ عام 1941. ويحتضن مبناه الذي صمّمه المعماري Kengo Kuma عام 2009 ممراً تحفّه أشجار الخيزران، يقود إلى صالات عرض من طابقين تعلوها سقوف قرميدية عريضة. وتضم المجموعة أكثر من 7,400 قطعة، من بينها سبع كنوز وطنية، ومنها لوحات Ogata Kōrin القابلة للطي بعنوان "Irises"، إلى جانب البرونزيات والخزفيات وأعمال الخط والتحف المطلية باللكر الصينية. وتمتد حديقة المتحف اليابانية على مساحة 17,000 متر مربع، وتضم بركاً وبيوتاً للشاي وفوانيس حجرية، وهي معلم بارز بحد ذاتها.
